Friday was our annual collaborative Apparel Design shoot for my Fashion Photography and Product Photography classes at @minneapoliscollege @mctcphmo
This is a real life learning opportunity for our photo students and for the apparel design students to be a part of a fashion shoot. All the designs are by the apparel students and all photos are taken by the photo students.
It went smoothly and the collaboration created some amazing photos. Good work y’all!! So proud of everyone involved.

Ok. Think about this one for a minute. The shadow of the tree was blocking the morning sun from melting the frost. So the shadow looks like a charcoal drawing with the snow making white highlights … pretty cool.
Lately, I’ve been working with Ai to assist me with inspiration and ideation for photo shoots. It’s been a great way to work out rough ideas for both commercial assignments and in-class lesson demos.
Last week, I was orchestrating an in-class demo on a narrative fashion shoot. My shoot theme was “Ice Queen”. After feeding my specifics for the look and feel of my idea into Midjourney I got the following results. The inspiration image Ai created is on the left, and the final photo shoot version is on the right. The results were amazing and it was a great lesson on mood board shoot prep for the students!
